2026

A full-time scholar embarking on a PhD journey, she is set to explore '100 Years of Services in Deafblind: Interpret Past to Inform the Future.' This research aims to analyze the evolution of services and support, drawing lessons from the past to shape a better future. By understanding historical and advancements, she hopes to contribute to practices and policies in this vital field.

A free braille literacy course is being conducted for participants interested in learning the fundamentals of braille reading and writing.

Rukaiya was invited to conduct a workshops on Story Box' learning at Department of Special Education, SNDT Women's University, Mumbai, introducing teacher trainees and staff at Arushi The Learning Centre to multi-sensory storytelling approaches that support language development and engagement for diverse learners.

2025

An awareness competition was organised in collaboration with Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, Mumbai for students to create tactile art work on the theme  'Through My Hands'. The winners were felicitated with cash prizes.

2024

Rukaiya was selected for the Educational Leadership Program (ELP) at the Perkins School for the Blind in the United States. This 10-month immersive program prepares educators and leaders working with children with disabilities through training, collaboration and leadership development.
